B.F.A. in Painting, College of Fine Arts, Bangalore (1988)
M.F.A. in Print making, Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S. University, Baroda (1990)
M.A. in English, Mysore University (1995)

From 1994-2004, Ravi has worked as a faculty member at RV College of Engineering in the Department of Architecture. In 2001he studied handmade papermaking under J Parry at the Papermaking Resource, Glasgow School of Art, Glasgow, UK, with a grant from the Charles Wallace India Trust, and in 2004 he worked as a visiting faculty member in the Department of Visual Arts at Bangalore University. He also worked as an academic adviser to Tech Art, Centre for Visual Arts at Sri Bhagavan Mahaveer Jain College, Bangalore.

The artist lives and works in Bangalore, India.
