Gallery Arts India is proud to bring to New York, Bose Krishnamachari's Solo show entitled "GHOST Transmemoir". This will be Bose's debut solo exihibition in New York.

Three States of being. Two Cities. A Solo Show.
On Show: Two Installations (40f x 2f) and nine paintings.

The exhibition explores themes of impermanence in the city of Mumbai. Krishnamachari believes that life in a metropolis does not extinguish but continually TRANS-forms. Life and death coexist here with little or no space for 'grey life' in the 'City of No Limits'. Memory about the common and commonplace is fleeting. It constantly transforms into newer imaginable spaces.

A Mumbai-kar's experience is one of balancing on the scaffoldings of high rise buildings, traveling on the omnipresent trains; of course, the 'chawls'. He carries a bag of dreams and fate! The works of the exhibition attempt to capture the energy of the city - in an eternal speed. Maximum experience in speed, in no time and miniscule space. A strange contour of most human and inhuman commercial growth!

The show includes 108 LCD small-scale monitors, a reference to the Upanishads, similar to the number of 'rudrakhs' worn around the neck. Carrying both a life of hedonism and the low-life of a Mumbai-kar. 108 Tiffin–carriers [Dabba] hanging from straphangers in a train. A 12 ft x 4ft billboard trivision will showcase his approach towards painting and styles: Minimalism, Navachromomania-abstract and life paintings.

Bose Krishnamachari completed his MFA from the distinguished Sir J.J. School of Art where he received a gold medal. He then trained at the Goldsmith College at the University of London after having received the Charles Wallace Grant for Fine Arts. He is also the recipient of The Mid America Arts Alliance Award that brought him to the United States. He has held 10 solos shows including 'Amuseum' at the Jehangir Art Gallery, 'Music of the Cubes' at the British Council Gallery in Mumbai among many others. His group shows include a 'Tribute to Picasso' at the Guild Art Gallery in Mumbai as well as 'Memos for the New Millennium from Artists of Molting Worlds' at the Birla Academy in Mumbai. He has conceptualized spearheaded 4 major traveling exhibitions including 'Double Enders', 'Bombay X 17', 'KAAM' and 'Bombay Boys' that has featured some of the major contemporary artists who hail from Mumbai and Baroda. Bose works and lives in Mumbai.
